hi, I just wanna to let you know that the mod is improving big , time
and is wonderful but it seems to me that you might have a problem ,
after installed the patch 3.1 it seems that I can' t use first gear
anymore , Iam using the realistic settings and tried every other combo
and first doesnt engage or it shows that it is in first but the car doesn,t move like if it stays in neutral, but everything else is working, fantastic good job, if I
can sugest something is ride height in 1967 the average ride height was
between 3 and 3.5 inches and was moved up to 4.5 for places like
nurburgring, I have tons of info , not very organize but if you will
need something you can aske and I will try to find it, pictures
drawings, also and this is more personal a starter sound will add to the
experience, great work

Ishould say that in the novice the
gearbox engages fine but in realistic it just stays in neutral , second
and the rest is fine, I have a G27 so I don't know if that has any thing
to do with it works fine with every other mod

i use realistic gearbox and i have no problems.

very strange....


p.s. for guys using only realfeel this are great settings:

MaxForceAtSteeringRack=-1300.000000
SteeringDamper=3500.000000
FFBMixerRealFeelPercent=100.000000
SmoothingLevel=0

(100% realfeel in the car upgrades)

I've PM'd him without knowing of this posting...
I'm thinking auto clutch may be on.
In any case, he brings up a good point. This in game setting will be noted in the upgrade menu on the next update along with the suggested ride height dynamics. The community works.

I take this opportunity to report 2 bugs for future improvements:

in 1967 there wasn't the differential pump settings (see the screen).
that is a settings of modern pneumatic differential.




and in the suspensions settings, for modify the marked options, you need 10 click of the mouse button. (test it)

thanks guys ,it got solved by itself, so I don't know and autoclutch wasn't on, I checked that before I send you the pm but forgot to mention it, since I came home it just started to work fine, funny isn't it, but thanks

"differential pump" my understanding is "pump" is neither hydro nor pneumatic speaking but is friction: "torque redirected per wheel speed difference in radians/sec" is how rFactor1 sees it, so to me it is the clutch(s) overall friction or gear ratios depending on diff type. The preload values are the spring values acting (time and force) on the clutch packs or ramp angles depending on diff type. Correct me if I'm wrong, and is an easy fix.

When in SAE units it's 2 "clicks". Maybe ozpata may know the values used in these cars. I can change the multiplier and get bigger spring rates and or larger increments or some other things, yet keeping the same dynamics as now. "1 click to 1 visual indication" adding to next update.

As I recall I think that the pump it is for the modern type lock but am not sure , about the parameters in the suspension,if he is refering to springs , back then the spring values were set to hold the car basically, and was done based on weight distribution, because of the suspension travel o the movement that was built into the suspension, that was as soft as they will go the range will allowed but then it was almost a certain run into trouble with bottoming out the suspension, so the springs were chose based on weight as total and then acording with weight distribution and the arb will be the ones that will help define the grip around corners and such, I hope that it makes sense what I said
lets not forget that the game allows far more adjustments than they actually did, basically it was gearbox, arb and some damping Jackie Stewart has commented that they didn't do an awful lot of adjustment beside the obvious ones with final and gears and then braking and the grip was down to adjusting arb even the adjustments of damping was not that complex

I have to find a paper about suspensions ,no idea where it is now,but I think they had about 5 choices of springs in steps of 10 to 15 lbs maybe or was it in n/mm, I don 't remember but it was somewhere around there, I will try to get back to you on that

me and many my friends have tested a lot to set its, and (after saw car reaction) all we think it's for the modern pneumatic differential (like modern GT sport cars).

You guys drives these cars more then I do. I will make an upgrade option for your testing, options will be "default": as is now, "alternate": a base pump torque value change so there is no upper and lower setting dynamics going on as in an modern GT diff... (my theory for a fix) and a "No Pump" option. I'll make these with an interim suspension change too for your testing and post here.

is the rfm file been fix ,to be able to select race season ? it ask for a car that I already have and doesn't let me race, I think that I wasn't the only one

I just wanna say that I liked this patch , the rear seems to me a bit more predictable, and the feeling didn't change that much just got better, now my question is how can we play a season championship , is there anything that has to be changed in the rfm or something ? great work ,this is getting better all the time

v3.1.2 This is for testing.

1) Increase the suspension travel. Lifting of the inside wheel instances lowered and unweighted suspension acts better (jumps).
2) Differential.
3) rFm file, season should work now.
4) No double action dampers. Snubber (bump stops) rates changed.
5) Engine red lines are defaulted to 1-2K rpms above the max HP point.
6) Tyres are stiffer. Visually they don't deform as much "sink into the ground level".
7) Most default setups have changed.

Short term needs:
-tachometers for the Honda and McLaren with up to 13k info. Nice If some one could make these.

tomorrow at 21:00 italian time [GMT+2 ?] with my friends we race in kyalami '79 (single event).
(we are using F1-1967 V.3.1.2 with an addictional upgrades patch for have only realistic gearbox, only 67 tyres and only 67 engines).

we tested a lot the 3.1.2 patch on the server.


with my friends we think that now the cars have too much oversteer.
we worked on setup, differential, suspensions but we didn't solved the oversteer problem.


have you changed the tires grip? (less grip in rear tires?)

another question about tires: we saw that the tires after 30-40 laps are too much consumate (in 1967 they during 60-70 laps)
